May 14, 2009 - 5 Peaks

Going Up
Tamara didn't like some of the technical aspects of this hike because sometimes your only choice was straight up or straight down.
Bill led this hike as Tam and Dave had never done it. Here he is with Turtle who lives in the flat after the 3rd peak.
Beautiful view of Snow Canyon from the top of 5 peaks.

Going down to the White Sand Dunes was as technical as going up from the bottom of Snow Canyon.

Monday, May 11 - Tuacahn Summit Run

What a beautiful run, uphill, and sand workout with Tyler, Bill, Dave and Tam. Bill took the pics of the others in front of the seahorse with the campground just east of us.

Saturday, May 9 - Jungle Run

We got lost on this run and ended up paving our own path - who was to blame? That is the question! Bill took the picture of Dave and Tyler in the neat rock formation we found.  Tam didn't want to get in the picture but Bill got her, at least part of her, anyway.

Thursday, May 7 - Volcano Run

Bill, Tam, and Dave ran from Snow Canyon's upper parking lot (on SR18) up to the Diamond Valley Volcano

20 Miler

We went up to and around Kayenta, then up the Shivwits, and back. A nice lady in Kayenta with a Nikon digital SLR took the pic for us and emailed it to us.

Tuesday's Ride

We went up Tuweep to the ponds, west on Snow Canyon to Ivins, up to the campground in Snow Canyon, back down and up to  Tuacahn where the picture was taken, then home. 20 miles.

Jan 17, 2009

Yvonne and Bill at Snow Canyon campground parking lot with "Island in the Sky" and Eye of the Needle" in the background.  Notice the blood on Yvonne"s leg from her fall.  As one of Bill's rock scrambling guests so appropriately stated years ago, "It's a good day when you draw blood".   This was a 17 miler, Yvonne's longest and a good sunny day.

Todays ride was to the campground in Snow Canyon by Bill and Yvonne.  Here is Yvonne shortly after she did a "Laugh-In" in the parking lot below the campground.  Unclicked her right pedal then shifted her weight to the left and went over before she knew what was happening. Haven't we all done it when we were learning?
