White sands to multi-pond amphitheater returning up Bill's chute

Michelle, Rochelle, Bill and Dave ran this 6 mile loop in 2 hours with a 700 foot altitude difference. We started at the White Sand dunes trailhead dropped down 700 feet to the bottom of Bill's chute then climbed back up to the white sands trail. In order not to backtrack too much we descended at the multi-pond amphitheater. The picture of Bill, Rochelle, and Michelle skirting the cliff is near where we left the trail to go north to the amphitheater.

Sand Dune parking lot up Hackberry Wash to Bill's Chute and back

We finally got a picture of Rochelle; Bill and her are on top of a lava perch after coming out of the wash and scrambling straight up a sandstone hill. This run was 6 miles and we did it in 2 hrs.

North Snow Canyon Entrance to Santa Clara Volcano

This was a 4 mile run in 1.5 hours with an elevation gain of about 800 feet (the volcano is 4800 and the marathon course says that the Snow Canyon intersection is 4000 feet). We saw 12 head of deer (2 bucks) while running on the backside. The picture of Bill was taken after 1.5 miles and coming back out on the ridge directly above where we started. We didn't quite make it to the volcano because of time constraints and cut down into the wash just before the last climb.

Padre Canyon Saddle/3 Ponds Wash

Today we ran/hiked this trail. 6.5 miles and it took us 2 hours to do it. We started and finished at the entrance gate to Tuacahn. We got to ice skate on several ponds where the ice was still thick enough. We took a quick detour in the run to visit Fern Gully. This beautiful gully is what Bill and Michelle are standing in front of in the picture.
